Specially selected varieties of sorghum and millet of varying heights produce a dense screen up to 12ft tall to hide your plots and stand access giving deer the security they need to use your plots during daylight and keeping you hidden

Providing deer with a sense of security can make all the difference. If mature deer rarely use your plots during daylight, screening cover may be what you’re missing. Dividing large plots into smaller areas can help deer feel more secure and help funnel movement right past your stand. Screening mixes are an excellent tool for shaping movement and providing you with concealed access to your stand especially in situations where you're working with large open areas.

Screen off a small corner of a large ag or hay field and create a secluded kill plot, or plant a line of Hideaway cutting across an open field to a stand location to let you sneak in undetected. Use around property lines to obscure the view of neighbors or road hunters. Planting around plots also entices bucks to commit to entering the plot in search of does since they will no longer be able to simply peer in from the safety of the woods.

This mix of specially selected sorghums and millet will produce a layered screen that is thick enough for concealment and sturdy enough to stand up to wind and snow. The species we selected range in height from short to tall (up to 12ft tall) and provide a framework to hold each other up. Other screening mixes fall flat without this support.

Use around food plots for added security or along access corridors to your stands to keep deer from seeing you and keep pressure down. Get into position undetected and prevent over pressuring your herd. The results of using screening mixes and bringing down hunting pressure can be night and day in terms of deer using your plots. Try it out for yourself and see the difference.

How we formulated this mix:

Having species of varying heights is key when creating a screening mix. The components here include short, medium, and tall plants which create a latticework and support each other even in wind and snow ensuring that this screen will stand up where others won’t. Also of note is that the species here have little to no food value to deer ensuring that deer will largely stay out of your screen and are not likely to be browsing it which is especially helpful is using to access stands. Using things like standing corn for a screen can sometimes backfire causing you to spook feeding deer in your way into a stand.

Hunt undetected

Give deer the security to move in daylight — and slip in unseen.

If mature deer rarely use your plots in daylight, missing cover might be why. Hideaway grows a dense screen up to 12 ft tall to break up big openings, conceal your plots, and hide your access to the stand.

Screen off a field corner into a secluded kill plot, line a path to your stand to sneak in undetected, or block the view from roads and neighbors. Bring hunting pressure down and watch daylight movement go up.

Built to perform

Cover that changes everything

Up to 12 ft of screen
Short, medium, and tall species lattice together into a wall that stands up to wind and snow where others fall flat.
Hide your access
Slip to your stand unseen and stop bumping deer on the way in — less pressure, more daylight movement.
Deer leave it alone
Chosen for little food value, so deer stay out of your screen instead of browsing it down.

Dead simple to plant

Three steps to a screen

1
Prep the seedbed
Disc, till, or plow — or go no-till and just rake/lightly expose the soil. Then smooth and firm it down.
2
Sow the seed
Cover lightly — don't plant too deep. ¼–½" is right. Drag or cultipack to firm.
3
Press it in
Cultipack or drive over the plot to press the seed into the soil for good seed-to-soil contact. That's all it needs.

What’s in the bag

Layered to stand tall

Varying heights are the secret to a screen that holds up. Short, medium, and tall species create a self-supporting lattice that stays standing in wind and snow — and they carry little food value, so deer stay out of it.

Questions, answered

How much does it cover?
The grip jug (5.25 lb) covers about 1/3 acre — enough for a long screening strip or to break up a field corner.
How tall will it really get?
Up to 12 ft in full sun with enough time. Plant 100–120 days before your opener or first frost so it reaches full height; partial shade will reduce it.
Is the seed tested?
Yes. Every batch is third-party tested for purity and germination before it’s ever shipped out, so you know exactly what you’re planting — no filler.
How fast do I get it?
Most orders ship within 1 business day (all within 3 at the latest). From there it travels UPS Ground — typically 2–4 business days in the lower 48, so most orders arrive in about a week. You’ll get tracking by email the moment it leaves our dock.
