Disc, till, or plow — or go no-till and just rake/lightly expose the soil. Then smooth and firm it down.

Bigger seed than our cool-season blends — plant it deeper, ½–¾". Drill or drag to cover, then cultipack.

Press it in
Cultipack or drive over the plot to press the seed into the soil for good seed-to-soil contact. That's all it needs.

Will deer wipe it out before fall?
In small plots heavy browsing can knock it back, so it stands up best in plots over 2 acres. Leave sorghum and bean pods standing and it keeps feeding deer into late season.
